Poltrona Frau Zhuang Round Walnut Tray by Neri&Hu

A round tray carved from solid Canaletto walnut, with a diagonal cut and a band of Saddle Extra leather. Designed by Neri&Hu for Poltrona Frau, it is a minimal, quietly luxurious home for keys, jewellery or the odds and ends of the day.

Carved from the solid

The Zhuang Round Tray is carved from a single piece of solid Canaletto walnut by precise numerical-control machining. Its diagonal cut gives the rim a subtle sense of movement, so that the tray seems to tilt gently towards whoever approaches it.

A band of Saddle Extra leather encircles the tray, embellished with contrast stitching set 3 mm from the upper edge and finished with the hot-stamped Poltrona Frau mark.

At home anywhere

In a hallway it receives keys and sunglasses; on a dressing table, rings and cufflinks; on a desk, paper clips and a favourite pen. Wherever it is placed, it brings a sense of calm and order.

A precious thing, kept safe

In Chinese, ‘zhuang’ means to keep something precious safe. The Shanghai-based studio Neri&Hu designed the Zhuang series in 2018 as a system of small, minimal and decidedly contemporary vessels for the things one values.
