Poltrona Frau Zhuang Round Stackable Jewellery Case by Neri&Hu

Four round jewellery trays in solid Canaletto walnut, stacked on a brass-finish base and each finished with a band of Saddle Extra leather. The Zhuang Round Stackable Case by Neri&Hu for Poltrona Frau is a small tower of precious things.

A tower of small treasures

Jewellery deserves to be both protected and admired, and the Zhuang Round Stackable Case manages both with considerable grace. The system consists of four jewellery trays that may be slipped out one by one from the base, which is made in satin-finished aluminium in a natural matt brass finish and holds the four trays together.

Each tray is carved from solid Canaletto walnut with a diagonal cut and encircled by a band of Saddle Extra leather, with contrast stitching and the hot-stamped Poltrona Frau mark. Rings in one, earrings in another, watches in a third: order has seldom looked so becoming.

For the dressing table

On a dressing table or in a walk-in wardrobe, the stacked trays read as a single sculptural object. Taken apart, they become four separate trays, so that the case adapts to the morning routine rather than the other way round.

A precious thing, kept safe

In Chinese, ‘zhuang’ means to keep something precious safe. The Shanghai-based studio Neri&Hu designed the Zhuang series in 2018 as a system of small, minimal and decidedly contemporary vessels for the things one values.
