Poltrona Frau Zhuang Oval Walnut Tray by Neri&Hu

An oval tray carved from solid Canaletto walnut, encircled by a stitched band of Saddle Extra leather. Designed by Neri&Hu for Poltrona Frau, it brings a calm, sculptural order to the console, the desk or the dressing table.

An elongated calm

The Zhuang Oval Tray shares the materials and craftsmanship of its round sibling in a longer, more generous form. Carved from solid Canaletto walnut by numerical-control machining, it is finished with a diagonal cut and a band of Saddle Extra leather.

The contrast stitching, set 3 mm from the upper edge, and the hot-stamped Poltrona Frau mark are the kind of details that one appreciates more with every passing year.

Room for more

Its length makes it ideal for a sideboard or a long console, where it holds a collection of small objects, a carafe and glasses, or the correspondence of the day. On a desk, it keeps pens, notebooks and glasses tidily in one place.

A precious thing, kept safe

In Chinese, ‘zhuang’ means to keep something precious safe. The Shanghai-based studio Neri&Hu designed the Zhuang series in 2018 as a system of small, minimal and decidedly contemporary vessels for the things one values.
