Four oval jewellery trays in solid Canaletto walnut, stacked on a brass-finish base and banded in Saddle Extra leather. The Zhuang Oval Stackable Case by Neri&Hu for Poltrona Frau is the most generous piece of the series.

Generous, ordered and discreet

The oval form of this stackable case offers rather more room than its round sibling, which makes it particularly suited to watches, bracelets and necklaces. The system consists of four jewellery trays that may be slipped out one by one from the base, which is made in satin-finished aluminium in a natural matt brass finish and holds the four trays together.

Every tray is carved from solid Canaletto walnut with a diagonal cut and finished with a band of Saddle Extra leather, contrast stitching and the hot-stamped Poltrona Frau mark.

A sculpture for the dressing table

Stacked, the four trays form a single, quietly architectural object; separated, they become individual trays for the bedside, the dressing table or the hallway. It is as practical as it is handsome, which is the highest praise we know.

A precious thing, kept safe

In Chinese, ‘zhuang’ means to keep something precious safe. The Shanghai-based studio Neri&Hu designed the Zhuang series in 2018 as a system of small, minimal and decidedly contemporary vessels for the things one values.
