Poltrona Frau Zhuang Desk Pen Holder with Ruler by Neri&Hu

A lidded pen case carved from solid Canaletto walnut, with a Saddle leather band and lid and a removable metal ruler held by magnets. From Zhuang Desk by Neri&Hu for Poltrona Frau.

A pen case with a hidden talent

The Zhuang Desk Pen Holder is carved from solid Canaletto walnut, with a niche whose wall slopes at 8 degrees and a band of Saddle leather finished with contrast stitching. Its lid is covered in the same leather and opens by means of a brass-finish metal clip.

At its base sits an oval metal profile that serves as a ruler. Held in place by magnets, it lifts away with ease, and its centimetre and inch markings are laser-engraved directly into the metal. It is, in short, a pen case that has thought ahead.

For the considered desk

Fountain pens, pencils and a favourite propelling pencil all rest within, protected from dust and ready when needed. Beside the Multi-Purpose Box and the Working Pad, it completes a desk of rare discipline.

Zhuang Desk

Designed by Neri&Hu in 2019, Zhuang Desk extends the Zhuang philosophy, keeping something precious safe, to the writing desk. All metal details are made in brushed steel with a natural brass finish, protected by a transparent matt surface treatment.
