Poltrona Frau Sparkler Outdoor Lantern by Kensaku Oshiro
A rechargeable lantern with a powder-coated aluminium frame wrapped in woven polypropylene rope, for terraces, gardens and living rooms alike. Designed by Kensaku Oshiro for Poltrona Frau, Sparkler is available in three sizes and three colour combinations.
Light that goes where you go
Sparkler is a lantern for evenings that begin indoors and end on the terrace, or the reverse. Its frame is made in powder-coated aluminium, around which a polypropylene rope is woven by hand to form a checkerboard pattern that throws soft patterns of light and shadow.
The LED is concealed in the top section, which carries a horseshoe-shaped handle so that the lantern may be carried wherever the conversation leads. An innovative safety system prevents the light from being unscrewed accidentally.
Cordless and weather-ready
The 8 W, 3000 K LED is powered by lithium-ion batteries with a life of around six hours and is recharged by USB; the power supply is included. A touch control switches it on and off, and an IP45 rating means it is equipped for outdoor use.
Three sizes, three combinations
Sparkler is available in small, medium and large. The large and medium lanterns stand on the floor; the small one sits on a table, or, with the optional kits, may be suspended from the ceiling or from a floor stand. Designed by Kensaku Oshiro in 2021, the Sparkler lanterns reinterpret Poltrona Frau's approach to ambient lighting for a world without boundaries between indoors and outdoors. They harmonise with the brand's outdoor collections and bring warmth to a terrace, a garden or a living room through the changing days and seasons.
