The spirit of the great liners

Oceano recalls the cruises of another age, when travellers crossed the Atlantic with wardrobe trunks that opened into small dressing rooms. Andrée Putman, the celebrated French interior designer, reimagined that romance as a bedroom trunk for objects, clothing and accessories.

 

Its structure is made in poplar plywood with solid beech runners, upholstered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather over polyurethane foam padding. Soft, self-braking swivel wheels allow it to be moved with ease.

 

Everything for the voyage

Inside, the drawers are finished in a textured, scratch-resistant milk lacquer, with an exterior in natural oak veneer and a birch plywood interior. Amongst the removable accessories are a miniature fold-down writing desk and a small padded pouf in solid natural oak, with details in chrome-plated metal and saddle leather.

 

One may therefore dress, write a letter and sit down to put on one's shoes without leaving the trunk's side, which is precisely the point.
