Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau Leather Mahjong Set
A mahjong set of 148 walnut tiles and 244 walnut sticks, with five leather-covered trays and a box in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather. The most ambitious piece of the Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau Games Collection, and a splendid one.
Skill, memory and agreeable conversation
Mahjong is a game of skill, memory and agreeable conversation, and it calls for a set worthy of all three. This edition comprises 148 walnut tiles and 244 walnut sticks, each with laser-engraved markings, together with four standard dice and a fifth die bearing the initials of the cardinal points.
Four trays hold the tiles and a fifth holds the dice and sticks. All are made in wood and covered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather, so that the table is set as handsomely as the game deserves.
Everything in its place
When the last hand has been played, the trays are stored within a box finished in the same leather. The set is thus kept complete and in good order, and it rests on a shelf or sideboard as an object of genuine distinction until the next gathering.
The finest of the Games Collection
Giobagnara, established in 1999 and celebrated for its leather craftsmanship, and Poltrona Frau, founded in Turin in 1912, have reserved some of their finest work for this set. Each version is finished in a single shade from the ColorSphere® palette, a colour system created with the colourist Giulio Ridolfo, which lends the set a calm and unified character.
Colour versions
Each version is finished in one shade of Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather:
Charme: SC 254 Steel Blue, a cool steel blue
Sea: SC 276 Mineral Blue, a deep mineral blue
Chalet: SC 136 Ginger Bread, a warm, spiced brown
Urban: SC 34 Maggese, an earthy, understated tone
Presented with care
The mahjong set is presented in a cotton bag marked Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau and a blue branded box, with the warranty certificate enclosed.
