Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau Domino Wooden Box

Dominoes in walnut and Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather. The Domino Wooden Box from the Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau Games Collection pairs a leather-covered walnut box with walnut tiles inlaid with leather; an heirloom, quite possibly, in the making.

Patience, strategy and a sense of substance

Dominoes is a game of patience and quiet strategy, and it has seldom been better accommodated. The box is made in walnut and covered in Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather, so that it is as agreeable to the hand as it is to the eye.

The tiles themselves are crafted in walnut with leather inlays. Each one is placed upon the table with a pleasing sense of weight, and the click of tile against tile becomes a rather more refined affair than usual.

A box worth keeping on display

When the game is concluded, the tiles return to their box and the box returns to the shelf, where it holds its own amongst books and objects of considerable distinction. It is the sort of piece that is admired long before anyone suggests a game.

Walnut and Pelle Frau® leather

The Games Collection brings together Giobagnara's expertise in leather, established in 1999, and Poltrona Frau's trademarked Pelle Frau® leather. The two-tone versions are drawn from the ColorSphere® palette, which Poltrona Frau developed with the colourist Giulio Ridolfo, and they complement the natural warmth of the walnut.

Colour versions

Each version combines two shades of Pelle Frau® ColorSphere® leather with walnut:

  • Charme: SC 254 Steel Blue + SC 66 India, a cool steel blue with a warm tan brown

  • Sea: SC 136 Ginger Bread + SC 276 Mineral Blue, a warm, spiced brown with a deep mineral blue

  • Chalet: SC 177 Limo + SC 66 India, a soft, earthy neutral with a warm tan brown

  • Urban: SC 34 Maggese + SC 28 Seppia, an earthy, understated tone with a deep sepia brown

Presented with care

The Domino Wooden Box is presented in a cotton bag marked Giobagnara x Poltrona Frau, inside a blue branded box that also holds the warranty certificate.
